Rick Santorum questions Obama’s “world View,” not his faith. That’s the latest from the potential Republican frontrunner.
The poor choice of words in the first place was bad for Rick, the “correction” was better for Obama. The people who would vote for Rick are many of the same people who think Obama is not even a Christian. And they’ll listen to Rick, because, ummm, he speaks the “Truth.”
Two different world views? That is surely an understatement. JP, I know you would not give Santorum’s worldview a second glance. And I would be willing to understand it, but I just cannot see how it can be any sort of legitimate. Rick has let his Dominionist worldview out of the bag. That is, he believes in a theocracy for America, even if it were a subtle one. But those guys do have some strict requirements to faith. I mean, who could be progressive AND Christian?!?
Obama is testimony that one can be a Christian, a person of faith, and allow the First Amendment to be practiced as it was intended, true freedom of religion.
For me, the Republican primary is getting boring because it simply seems like a foregone conclusion. Mitt nor Rick can beat Obama. I wouldn’t bother voting in the primary either if I was a Republican.
