The Moral Agenda

We’ve been talking a lot about the agenda of OWS; what it should be, how it should be presented, what specifics they should demand. George Lakoff, the author of “Don’t Think of an Elephant” and other books, who I think is wise on framing issues constructively, has a nice piece here on OWS, outlining why he thinks it should be framed as a moral movement. And the need now that it has been going a little while to frame itself, before the right frames it falsely in their own way. I think he is right that it is a moral movement. And that may be what keeps it going.

About JP

We're two guys who met in college, in 1980. We've stayed in touch, and like to talk politics, current events, music and religion. JP is nore liberal than Sid, but not in every way. We figure that dialogue stimulates ideas, moderates perspective, and is in general friendly. These are things we need badly in these dangerous times. The blog name is taken from a song by Bruce Cockburn.
