Thank you, Warren E. Buffett

Buffett has a wonderful op-ed in the Times today. I hope he calls John Boehner to tell him all this. Not that John would listen, but he should. Buffett understands that all the money in the world wouldn’t be good for him if he was living in a ravaged third world country. It is far better for him to have slightly less money and to live in a thriving country with a strong middle class.

Boehner may well understand that, but like McConnell, it is far more important to him to destroy Obama than it is to help the country. It’s really just pitiful.

We need more of the super-rich to add their voices to Buffett’s. That may actually be able to stop the Republicans from destroying America just to have a better chance to retake the presidency.

About JP

We're two guys who met in college, in 1980. We've stayed in touch, and like to talk politics, current events, music and religion. JP is nore liberal than Sid, but not in every way. We figure that dialogue stimulates ideas, moderates perspective, and is in general friendly. These are things we need badly in these dangerous times. The blog name is taken from a song by Bruce Cockburn.
